Frayed and Ripped with first wash
I purchased this towel after reading tons of reviews. I wanted something cute, soft, and durable for my baby girl, due to arrive any day now. I purchased this particular towel because I thought the elephant hood was adorable and because the product had gotten positive reviews. As with any baby item, to prepare for use, I washed the towel on the gentle cycle with a "free and clear" detergent and dried it on low heat. The towel became frayed and ripped in many locations.

So, I was forced to return the towel. To Amazon and the retailer's credit, I was given a full refund (shipping included) with no hassles. Customer service was great, but the product was not. Extremely adorable, but fell apart even before use. I'm not sure if I just got the "lemon," but beware.

Excellent thick and durable towels
We LOVE these towels and have had them over a year and a half now. They are our favorite bath towels as they are so nice and thick and long so great for babies to toddlers and up. We have the Frog, Duck and Bunny and they have held up SO well with as many times as we use and wash them. Although they are expensive they make up for it due to how long they last and stay nice. I am getting some more for a friend's daughter's birthday and for my girls!
Distracts from being cold getting out of the water
We started with a duck towel, which my 3-year-old son loved. Then, I got this deer one. When he gets out of the water, he is usually upset that he is cold. This distracts him somewhat, from that. And he's so darn cute! He doesn't want to get dressed.

Soft
Got the washcloth on sale. Was not sure what to expect since I never use this brand before. The cotton was very soft when arrived. I wash it and it still feel nice as new. Only time will tell if this is going to last long, but I am very happy with the quality (same as some other name brand that I got at the dept. store) for the price I paid at Amazon.

Update: This has become my favorite towel. I have since purchased more washcloths, hand towels and bath towels from 1888 Mills. Favorite means more uses and washes, but it stand up nicely. I've also share with some of my friends, they all think this is exceptional value. This was my first organic towel, so I have check out other brands and websites, they were all so expensive. Since I am happy with this one, I have no reason to pay more and try other brands.

Excellent Quality Washcloth Set - Soft & NO Odor!!!
One of my biggest problems shopping for washcloths (or anything made of fabric these days) is the industrial odor imbedded in the fabric from the factories they are made in (NOT in the USA). Even some "organically grown" items come with an odor that is difficult if not impossible to get rid of.

GREAT price for EXCELLENT, SOFT, ABOSRBENT towels!
Got a pair based on the reviews and have never been more pleased with towels. According to their labels (and another reviewer), the towels are made in USA (awesome!!). I have gotten so many towels at Target, thinking that they will be absorbent because they are soft and look nice, but this is not the case at all. I've been really disappointment with all of them.

These towels are a good, large size; they are thick, soft and absorbent; and the grey is a nice, subtle color.

Cool style but.....
This towel set caught my eyes when I first saw them. I washed them as soon as I got it. When I first used it, I found that it left black lints all over me! I thought maybe it would be gone after the first couple uses. But I was wrong, I washed them several times, used lint roller and lint brush and did anything to remove those lints, now It's been two weeks from getting it and it still "producing" lints..... It is really disappointing...

Nice balance of features
After a recent bathroom remodel I went on the search for the "perfect" towel. After trying several brands over the past six months, I can with absolute confidence say there is no such thing as the perfect towel. But, of all the ones I tried, the Calcot bath sheets strike the best balance between pros and cons.

Of all the brands I tried, the Pinzon (Amazon house brand) 820 Gram towels and the Restoration Hardware Egyptian cotton towels were the closest runner-ups. Both are outstanding towels, but both suffered from the same problem - weight. These are some heavy towels in the bath sheet size! Weight is good when it comes to being a thirsty towel that offers a dense feel. Weight is not good when it comes to drying. On humid days the bath sheets would take more than a day to air dry after one use. Washing them was even more of a problem since they took forever to dry in the dryer. I line dry whenever I can, but unless it was hot and dry out (not all that common in VA), these...

Superb.
After spending an afternoon driving around to the various home goods stores, I checked Amazon and found a review that praised these towels- and suggested I buy them direct from Calcot off their web site. I did so, and about five days later they arrived. They looked a bit linty and had a slight odor out of the box, but after a trip through the washer and drier they were odor and lint free, and felt wonderful. You can spend a lot more on towels, but these are nice nice as any I've found around town. They're very absorbent, and thick, but not so thick that they won't dry out. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
FANTASTIC TOWELS AND FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Ordered these towels from Amazon.com, they were shipped from Calcot in California. Received the towels in 4 days .. and I am in Massachusetts!! The towels are of excellent quality and BIG! Unfortunately, we were trying to match a color in the newly applied bath wallpaper and the color just did not work. I e-Mailed Heather at Calcot to return the package, NO problem .. she set up a UPS pick-up order, and 6 days later she emailed me that the towels were received and the complete charge had been credited to my credit card account!! THAT'S what I call GREAT customer service. Would highly recommend this company.

Love these towels!
I first bought a white set back in July 2012 to see what they are like. Two months later I loved them so much I decided to buy the Sunflower and the Cocoa Bean. The colors are wonderful. Very vibrant. The towels are soft and very absorbent. Love the size. They don't bunch up after washing (in warm water) and drying. I'm going to order more to have the other colors and replace all my other (25-30 year old) towels that are currently in my linen closet. We'll save those for when we wash our dog :).

Wrong everything...
I ordered the "thyme" colored towels in search for something between green & gray. The towels I received were a bright, light green color - something that wasn't even remotely close to the color in the photo for the product description. The towels were also much thinner & scratchier than I expected...they were not plush by any means.

Are these paper? After one wash the edges are frayed. very low quality fabric. Its time to return them ASAP
Towels are OK - color different to picture and description
These towels are OK - long threads sometimes make for pulled threads - but basically fine. You should be aware that the 'light maize' color which looks pale brown or beige in the photo is actually bright yellow. It's fine for me, since it happens to match other things in my bathroom, but I can imagine that might cause problems for other people.

Update: nearly a year later and these towels haven't worn nearly as well as some of the others we have (although the others were more expensive I think)

Very plush and absorbent. I purchased several in different colors. The only thing I didn't like was that the towels and washcloth in the papaya color were different shades. The other colors I purchased were fine. I would purchase again.

They are OK
The convenience of buying the color and exact item surpassed the quality. By accident while removing a tag I pulled a whole strand of thread from this loosely woven cottong towel. Since their purpose is more ornamental than functional, I did not return them.

Nice for the price
These towels are quite attractive as well as being soft & cuddly. On the down side, after 3 launderings & several uses, they're still shedding lint, even though a heck of a lot came out in the pre-use washing & drying. It's annoying; I have hopes it will stop eventually. Also, the towels aren't as absorbent as I would like. All that said, I'm satisfied. They're good value for the price.

I've had these for a few months and they're still OK but a lot of the thread has started to come loose over time. They work well enough. Probably could get better towels at ikea for the same price.
Great quality
The towels are thick, heavy and soft. There is hardly any lint when put in the dryer unlike others I bought to compare before buying more. These towels are extremely good value for money!

great towels...but
these towels are a great size, not too large or heavy. They will dry nicely on a rack and washed well. The towels are fluffy, absorbent,low shed, and very soft. I am pleased with my purchase EXCEPT while the supima cotton they are made of is grown in the US the towels are made in Pakistan. I am not sure I would have bought them if I had known that, as I try to buy domestically or at least from countries with economic systems that I can support. Just a comment.

Good Value
These towels have been terrific, soft and absorbent right from the start. I do not launder them with fabric softener and tumble them on medium heat and they come out beautifully every time. I have had only one bath towel with an edge seam that came loose but it was a quick fix and everything else has been fine. I cannot speak to their color fastness (which was an issue with the last brand of towels that I purchased) as I purchased these towels in white. Overall, I think these towels are a good value for the money.
Luxurious but not very absorbent
These towels are really plush. I got them because I've had supima cotton towels in the past that I loved. I don't know if there's some treatment on the threads but these don't seem to absorb water ... it's more like you wipe if off with these towels. This persists after a few washings.

Be aware or should I say BEWARE!! The Kassatex bath set sheds lint like crazy!! I washed them in the normal setting before using as I do everything I purchase, and I had to clean the dryer lint filter three times during the drying cycle. Be cautious about your dryer and do not mix with any other items for at least the first washing and drying. I have found from experience that this is a characteristic common to products from Turkey and India. Hopefully, the shedding will diminish. The bath set is nice, I enjoy using them, the colors are pretty (I purchased three) and I like them a lot. I am not sure yet about colorfastness as I've only washed them once.

I kind of coveted getting these towels
Coveting towels?
I am afraid so.
I just had an immediate liking and wanting for these towels.
It was beyond my control....I just really liked them.
.
I still do. BUT....Butt....I ordered the color "BRICK" and as advertised that there is a "reddish brick" .... no two ways about that.
Now what I actually GOT....was NOT this Reddish Brick" color....rathe mine are sort of a medium strong reddish salmon color.
Two different animals for sure.
NOW....it does happen that I actually do like this strongly subdued version and is not a real problem for me personally.
However....someone else might not be so forgiving in the laxness of the visual actual color they get.
I will post an image on the product listing of the color discrepancy.
No huge thing but I was surprised and others should be aware of this.
On the other hand.....I really like these towels....and will buy more if they in fact hold up well as expected.

I find that for the money and the quality of these towels, I could not find better deal. Of all the other towels I own, I only use these ones now. They are so soft and thick and warm. The company delivered quickly and had excellent customer service.

They look great and work great too!
These towels looked great and even more importantly get the job done!! They are thick, luxurious, and the color I ordered matched the photo/description.
Soft, yet still dries well
Most really soft towels don't absorb water well (in the history of my towel purchases!), but these towels fit the bill for BOTH. I didn't give the final star because I haven't had them for very long yet and have only washed them about a dozen times. The color is exactly as pictured and the four sets of guests that have used them over the past two months have commented on their softness. They are a good generous size and look nice in the bathroom.
